Just FYI, another member, Bill Miller, added a lift kit to his TM, and did a nice write up of the process. It is in the
Trailmanor Technical Library, which every member should get familiar with. His thread is found at

He was lucky - the join wasn't welded. But he still might be able to help you with other issues.
