Thanks for all of the ideas! I checked in with the factory today - Ed said that a new Fantastic fan should be a direct replacement, so I picked one up at my local RV store, along with sealant for the install. Hopefully the existing one won't be too hard to remove.
Now a related question: does anyone have a favorite brand / model of vent cover (to allow use of the vent in the rain, etc.) I've seen two or three designs out there...
