From what I can see... its yet another thing the factory is doing to cut corners to save money. You need a longer piano hinge there. Make sure you have more attachment points. Meaning triple the amount of screws and rivots.
More attachment points means the load on those components are spread put over a greater distance. Therefor less load per screw. That should solve your issue.
