I had a leak in ours, which appeared with the first heavy rain we camped in. I took the old caulking off the outside of the Fantastic Fan mount, both around the fan hardware, and around the base of the mounting (wood) frame. It stopped the leak.

Whatever they do, don't let them caulk on the inside of the inner frame, inside the TM. By doing this, any water that enters from the outside will stay in the wall, instead of dripping onto (in our case) the sink. It must be sealed from the outside, not the inside.
