All,

This may seem convoluted, but it works for us. We took our queen foam mattress (which was way too firm/hard for us) out of the nice cover and replaced it with an inexpensive 1-1/2 inch memory foam topper. Then, we bought a nice Tempur-pedic 3-inch memory foam topper (expensive, but very nice) and put it in a basic mattress protector. So, basically, we have a really nice memory foam topper on top of a cheap memory foam topper, which serves as a base in the original cover that has the waterproof vinyl on the bottom. I weigh 150 pounds and I find it comfortable...perhaps it may not be enough support for folks who weigh significantly more.

On our full bed, which our daughter uses, we simply put an inexpensive 1-1/2 topper on, which stays there. The TM closes fine with it.

Good luck!

John
