Often times, I've read, what fails with these tongue jacks is the gears -- they wear out or get stripped. Replacement gears are can be purchased, and they are not expensive -- maybe $10-$15 -- and takes about 5-10 minutes to swap out. If your particular jack is no longer sold, you may have to try a few sets before finding one that fits. But that's probably not worth the time unless replacing the jack is an issue (such as different mount, etc.)
