I have a 2006 as well. The welds on mine were just something that I call a tack weld. Something to hold the rig in place while the bolts were being torqued, I guess. What do I know about welding and frame making...
Cut them with a four inch grinder and cutting disk. Did one side at a time. MARKED EVERYTHING before cutting ANYTHING. Took longer then the 30 minutes harveyRV did...
but still doable in a few hours taking my time double checking position along the way.
