I have the Duo-Therm, Briskair unit and it doing a bit of maintenance and cleanup. It currently has two issues I'd like to address.

- When powering on, unit appears to operate fairly well. After a minute or two, air is pretty cool, fan working, etc.

Issues:
1) The control know for the fan spins so there is no way to adjust the fan or actually turn if off (without disconnecting power). Would like to replace the control know but it's the stem that spins, the knob itself is ok.
2) I'd like to try and quite the unit a bit if possible as it sits directly above the bed. Anyone re-insulated the cover to try and dampen the sound? Did hit help?

Primarily would like to address item #1 as it's functional. Item 2 if possible.
