Default large couch reassembly - 2006 3124kb

Help!

My wife is remodeling our Trailmanor and disassembled furniture (both couches and the beds) to reupholster. Life gets in the way and it's been a few months since she took it apart. Having re-assembled, she now has 2 sections of "angle iron" she cannot find a home for. I found a picture in the forum of someone showing angle iron vertically behind the front lower section of the couch (presumably to provide support for the glides that permit the couch's seat to slide out and make a bed). The holes appear to line up here but when installing in this position, a gap presents along the front side of the couch between the seating surface and the lower front fascia.

Any idea what we are missing here?

Before someone says it, I know... pictures of the disassembly would go a long way toward assisting with the re-assembly (hindsight being what it is, and all). Also, I don't have pictures to post (at the moment) because she won't let me see it until she is done.
