I believe there is wood in place into which the screws for the corner latch anchor can be securely attached. I don't know for sure, but assume it would be large enough in area to accommodate the positioning of the anchor. The thumbnail shows the repair that MCD in West Yarmouth, MA came up with to repair my corner latch anchor several years ago. The repair has stabilized the corner latch anchor. There are generally two reasons the anchor tends to fail; 1) the latch is too tight putting too much stress on the anchor; 2) water infiltration behind the anchor or around the screws. The latch is adjustable using the threaded extension. Unfortunately I don't have any dimensions or screw sizes since I was not present when the repair was done.
