Here is why I suggest using 4-inch or 6-inch wide tape, despite its higher cost. This is the roof of my TM - and I haven't yet applied the tape. The black marks just forward of the rub strip are where the bag seal has missed the factory-installed rub strip, or slid off the front edge of it, as the shell moves in transit. It has started to rub the paint off the aluminum.
