FYI - never accept older propane tanks if offered. Most places will no longer fill tanks without the overfill protection device, or OPD, that prevents over-filling the tank with liquid that can result in a hydrostatic failure (explosion) if overheated.
The horizontal tanks have the OPD, which is used when the tank is filled vertically. If they don't have one, you will find out the next time you try to have it filled.
