I think i found the issue. It was a screw on the trim piece that holds the vinyl velcro flap in place inside. The last 2 screws had pulled out and the trim was about a 1/2" from where it needed to be. Some wood wedges helped me force it back in place and then i could get several more new screws to keep it there. .

Now, how to deal with the scratch? Im thinking sand it, bondo, primer and dark battleship grey bed liner paint for the damaged area. Total trailer repaint or try to color match the paint and reproduce those graphics
