Several trips, mostly flat, with 2720SD from San Diego with XC90 6 cyl turbo with 5 speed - towed OK but with some lugging (transmission hunting) on hills.
Recent trip to north rim of Grand Canyon and Zion with XC90 AWD V8 with 6 speed auto. Much smoother on hills - (7000 ft altitude gain) coolant temp needle nailed in center while towing uphill in 110 degree outside temps. Highly recommend XC90 V8 with Prodigy and EAZ 1000 levelers for 2720's.
