Would it be worthwile to think about putting in a 4-inch wide strip of carpet across the width of the TM, positioned so that it is centered under the lip when the slide-out is slid out? If you had just a couple inches showing when the slider is all the way out, it might look like a decorative transition strip. It would cover the glowing white rubber seal. And it would seal the opening better against drafts. All while preserving the advantages of a wood floor.

Alternatively, it would be pretty straightforward to remove the white rubber strip, and substitute a black or brown one which would look more like Dave's.

Oh, well, my wife says I have no taste anyway.
