I purchased my 2417 Sport in January 2012. I towed it with my 2004 4.7L V-8 Grand Cherokee, for a while. I experienced the same non-towing mileage as you (I am in Colorado, so hilly). When I put my TM on, I dropped to just over 14 mpg on the highway, doing 70 - 75. Loaded, my TM was 3300 lbs.

That's about as close to a one-for-one comparison as I can give. Your 2720 will likely weigh about 400 lbs more, but from what I have read, that won't make much of a difference in mileage. As stated above, speed has more bearing on mileage, and I do tend to go 70-75 while towing my 2417. I may slow down on shorter trips, but on 8-hour drives, 10 mph makes a big difference in travel times. I accept lower mileage as a cost of less time on the road.
