Default Torsion Bar Bracket attachment points-A new wrinkle

The latest experience with torsion bar attachment points on my 2010 3326 has manifest itself as a sudden 5/8" drop of both my front and rear roof shells on the RH side, center struts. During my last setup I found I could not put the rear 4" entry door panel in place. It was 5/8" taller than the front roof lower edge and could not be put into place without jacking the roof struts up.

I checked all of the previous problem areas (strut length, level, etc.) and all were OK. It was clear that both the front shell RH rear strut and the rear shell front RH strut were both OK but the lower attachment point for both had dropped 5/8". In other words the torsion bar anchor bracket for both bars was lower than it used to be.

I checked to see if the three attachment lag bolts had pulled out of the floor bottom. The were still tight. I then put a bottle jack under the bracket and slowly raised it up. To my surprise the floor corner at the front edge of the right front wheel well went up with it.

Further investigation found the floor framing around the front of the wheel well had become loose (de-laminated) and allowed the bottom of the floor to drop 5/8" below the top of the floor. The attached pictures will help describe the situation. They also clearly show that there is a lot of wood used in the TM atleast as late as the 2010 models.

I contacted TM and sent them the same pictures and am glad to report that both Ed Lytle and Bob Eickhoff contacted me to fix the problem under warranty. I will be dropping the TM off at Custom RV in Ontario, CA this coming Saturday and they will return it back to me after the repairs.

The first pix shows the lower floor edge (white strip) below the bottom edge trim.

The second pix shows the floor jacked up to normal level even with the bottom edge trim.

The third pix shows the interior with the wheel well peeled back and no jack.

The forth pix is a close up of the interior with no jack.

The fifth pix shows the interior with the jack pumped up to make it level.

If this keeps up, I will know more than I ever wanted to know about TM construction.

Thanks Bob Eickhoff for his great customer service...You too ED.
