I just now read this thread. I went to my kitchen "odds n ends" drawer and got out a couple of standard square tipped screwdrivers. I walked out to the driveway and fitted the end of the smaller one into the square hole in the screw. It fit "cattycornered" into two of the corners, and I turned the screw by maintaining a little forward pressure while twisting my wrist counter clockwise. I measured the width of the tip at 5/16".

I will pick up the appropriate screwdrivers when I think of it. Meanwhile, what I have is adequate.
