We use an OXO french press https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005LXOIY0..._jFvrzbSAD9ME9 that we have found to be sturdier than most of them out there. (We've broken many a Bodim and Grosche beaker). Not perfect, as you can see in the reviews, but easier to clean with the silicone filter than most french presses. We just pour through a strainer to eliminate any grinds.

We purchased a 4 cup version when we found ourselves camping with no way to make coffee , and it was the only choice we had at the time. Liked it so well that we got an 8 cup version for home use. Any beaker than can last over a year in our household has got to be tough, and we've had both coffee makers over a year now with no breaks!
