I got these LED strips from a place on the Internet called JR and you bypass the high voltage circuit and just tap into the 12v wire after the switch. The one thing I found out with LEDs is that if you want to match the lumens that flourescent put out watt for watt, LEDs do not save you a ton of power. That's because flourescent bulbs are quite efficient themselves. LEDs do save a ton of power when compared to filament bulbs.
