No embarrassment needed. A 2017 Highlander has a tow rating ranging from 1500 lbs to 5000 pounds, depending on trim level and options. Hence my query about the tow package.
For hitch installation, you could go to an RV place, or a Toyota place, but I think you will pay a lot less for the same hitch at U-Haul, which seems to do a good job. You will want a weight-distributing hitch, of course.
