I have a swing-away and a WDH. There is no interference - the tongue swings completely to the side.
I'm not sure what you are seeing that looks like it could cause problems. When you disconnect the trailer, the spring bars stay with the vehicle's portion of the hitch, and then they come completely off. The snap-up brackets are mounted permanently on the frame of the trailer, but they don't interfere with the tongue as it comes around.
Would a photo of my setup with the hitch swung aside be helpful?
