What a fun task!
0:22 highway 550 a little south of Ouray - there is discussion on this forum about not doing that section (Silverton-Ouray) with a Trailmanor. We just got back from a trip there and based out of Ridgway State Park for sight-seeing north of Silverton. We followed the alternate route near Telluride described by RockyMtnRay from that thread:
