Although I don't have experience with other devices, we really like our regular TV and Chromecast combination. I can't say that I've used it while camping but the article at
http://www.alphr.com/google/google-c...st-of-google-s gives some instructions on how to do so. It seems the simplest method is to just mirror the phone display (which doesn't require wifi).
