As Leon says, the "microwave box" sits in the low part of the counter next to the wardrobe. It is the same height as the counter next to the stove, so when you put it in place, you have a level countertop all the way from the top of the stove to the wardrobe. You can set the microwave anywhere on this countertop. It is really a nice thing to have. Invented by one of the people on this board, I believe, and picked up by the factory.
