I would determine the model desired, then the budget, then find and buy the newest year/model available that meets your criteria.

2-3 years old seems to be the sweet spot where value has dropped, but a TM in great condition can be found. Of course there are those cream puffs that some find that have sat for 7 years and were used 2x. LOL
