With the factory package you are certainly properly equipped. But not all Explorers come with heavy towing capability, thus a proper hitch, transmission cooling, adequate suspension, etc. are needed, which the factory package supplies.
You certainly should be OK towing any of the TMs, unless the relative lengths of the longer TMs and the Explorer cause problems (I don't expect it, but...).
