Well, I used to use a V-6 Sport Trac to tow my 2720SL, but it was a tad weak on certain mountain passes of 6% grade and greater (we're talking elevations in excess of 9,000 feet), so I went to an F-150. The Sport Trac was fine for most things, so I expect with a V-8 (not available when I bought mine) it shouldn't do half bad, assuming you pay close attention to loading and ensure it is properly equipped for towing.
