Please do not use the stabilizer jacks for work under the TM. You could use them for the lifting you plan and to help hold up the trailer but they are not designed to do what you want, go get a set or two of "jack stands". The jack stands are for holding things (cars, trailers) up for longer times and are more steady than sissor jacks. Note that the sissor jacks are all attached from side to side and not all that stable in front/back movement. If you were not detaching the axle this might be a mute point but for this job, use the stands. I'll bet that they could be rented for next to nothing if you knew where to look. I'm almost sure they cost under $10.
