OK, Recon1, I think I'm confused.

First, T_C is exactly right. DON'T let air out of the tires, at least for travel. If you have to let air out in order to get it into your garage, be sure to re-inflate before travelling any distance.

The stock 2720SL comes with 14" tires, and wheel wells designed for 14" tires. Works fine. I think you can special-order a 5000-pound axle and 15" tires as a single line-item option. (A great, option by the way!) The 15" tires will probably rub in the 14" wheel wells, so I bet the option includes a lift kit to provide extra tire clearance.

Did you buy the option package (bigger tires, heftier axle, lift kit), and then remove ONE PART of the option (the lift kit)? I don't think you can do that. The option is a single unified package.

FWIW, you have my sympathy. My 2002 2720 SL fits through my garage door with less than 1/2" to spare. I would love to add a lift kit, but if I did, the TM wouldn't fit through the door. When I trade in my 2002 TM for a 2006 model, I really want the 5000 pound axle and 15" tires - and I am hoping that the low profile roof air conditioner will make up the difference.

In the meantime, I think that the wheel wells are a single fiberglass piece, screwed to the inside floor of the TM. I bet that you can unscrew them from the floor, and shim them up on a strip of 1/2" thick hardwood or aluminum channel. Should be pretty straightforward. If your TM is like mine, you need height - the width and length of the wells is OK.

I am assuming that you have checked the height of your garage door opening when the door is open. Is the height of the opening limited by the lower edge of the door, or by the door frame? Sometimes, you'll find that the door doesn't open quite all the way, and you can adjust the opener to give you another 1/2" or 1" of height.

Let us know what you find.
