If the swing hitch pin interferes with the weight distribution spring bar, then your WDH - actually the ballmount on the hitch - is badly misadjusted. There is some information here

If you do a patient search on "links", you'll find others. But you'll do even better if you search for the word "groan", which is the noise the hitch assembly makes when it is misadjusted.

Bottom line, you should have 5 or 6 or 7 weight-bearing links in the chain, between the springbar tip and the snap-up hook. (The number of free, non-weight-bearing links doesn't matter.) It sounds like you have maybe 2. You need to tilt the ballmount back - they are adjustable - to lower the springbar tips. The setup instructions that came with your hitch (also available on line) will tell you how to do this.
