Thanks for the responses.
The rod is solid...pointed at the end that is sticking out. My only idea was that perhaps trailmanor put in a solid copper grounding rod...but that seems not to be the case. The only other idea I had is that somehow we "threw up" a rod that was on the highway...because it is sort of like a spear, except that I noticed that the puncture of the floor went out and not in.
We have been using our gas without a problem, and I did inspect the undercarriage and inside of the cabinet.
Should I be leaning toward a freak accident and in that case I will try to pull the rod out.
