One thing is for sure. If you are going to back your TM into a garage with only an inch of clearance, you aren't going to do it with your tow vehicle.
If your driveway is hard (concrete or aphalt), and level, and there is no lip at the garage entrance, and you are feeling strong, you *might* get away with using the dolly wheel that came with your TM, but even this is iffy. I think you will need a hitch dolly, one with pneumatic tires, to maneuver the hitch around enough.
If your driveway more challenging in any way, you will probably need a motorized dolly. They aren't cheap, but they are a lot cheaper than catching the awning on the edge of the doorway and ripping it off as you try to back in.
We have had a lot of discussion on dollies here on the board. I suggest you hit the search button, type "dolly" into the search box, and set the search time to something like 700 days.
