If you can measure the overall length, that would help. Measure from the back of the back bumper to the tip of the trailer tongue, either open or closed.

My guess would be that you have (what was later called) a 2518. That would be 22' open and 18' closed. I may be wrong.

If it is a 2518, it's probably around ~3500# fully loaded and has a tongue weight around ~400#.

Those weights could be way off depending on what equipment and modifications have been made to the trailer in the last 25-years. The safest thing to do is to load it up like you are ready to go camping and use a friends truck to tow it to a local official scale and have it weighed.

When figuring on the capacity of a tow vehicle (TV), one must find out the total weight carrying/towing capacity of that vehicle including passengers, cargo, fuel and fully loaded trailer. On some vehicles, this is listed as the GCWR (Gross Combined Weight Rating) of the vehicle. You will also have to consider the tow rating (this is secondary, far more complicated than it may appear and must not be considered on it's own) of the vehicle, both axle ratings and the tire ratings. You should find a vehicle the exceeds the actual weights of of your set-up.
