You do not need to slide the rear bed, just lift it up after popping the latch into the bathroom wall. The purpose of that latch is to prevent bad people from entering the TM by just pushing up on the rear bed from the outside.

I have the standard front bed, so I would do the same in the front. For those with the front living room, I have no idea.
