The vehicle is rated at 5000 pounds towing capaciity. For years prior to 2008, Highlanders were rated at 3500 pounds, but this was in addition to The vehicle's gross vehicle weight rating. Please look in your owner's manual and the driver's door label plates and share with us the GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) and the GCWR (Gross Combined Weight Rating) which includes the trailer.
