I also want to use our TM's front mounted speakers.
When using our TV's built in DVD player, the volume is just not loud enough - even on 'max'. I want to run the TV's audio signal through the radio/receiver and utilize the TM's much larger, and better placed speakers.
My 'low tech' approach is to run two RCA cables (L & R) from the TV's audio outputs, to a 'Y' connector 1/8" jack, that will plug into the AUX input on the face of the radio/receiver. I have been using the AUX input to connect an iPod to the system. Our LCD TV is mounted on the outside of bathroom wall, above the kitchen sink, so I'll have to contend with the two cables showing while we're watching a DVD.
