We have a similar configuration with a 2619 and a GMC Jimmy with all the towing goodies including the "Tow/Haul" button. About the only difference is we have the V-6 4.3L. We towed the 2619 back from Little Rock, AR where we bought it, to Mead, WA without a WDH, and as you say it towed fine, even in a blizzard we encountered between Amarillo, TX and Tucumcari, NM. We then put on a WDH that we purchased from U-Haul and there's a lot of difference - the ride is smoother and there wasn't the tendency to bounce in the rear (especially on concrete roads) as there was without the WDH. We will not tow the TM again without the WDH. The sag wasn't that much without the WDH, but the improved ride is well worth the price of the WDH - I think it was about $250 at U-Haul for the 750# WDH that, IMHO, is entirely sufficient for the 2519 TM. As they say YMMV.
