The reason, of course, is so that you can turn off the lights without bothering anyone who may be sleeping in the front bed or pull-out couch. Somehow, the presence of the switch should be made more obvious.

In new TMs, there is an All Lights Off rocker switch just to the left as you enter the trailer. When our trailer was new, I panicked when none of the interior lights would come on. I have come to love that switch, but it was a little tense for a while.
