The furnace does use battery to run the fan. I usually only ran it a couple nights before I would charge the battery so it would not get below 40% and that was on pretty cold nights and it kicked in frequently. Others have posted using the furnace more nights so it depends on how cold and how long it runs. I now have a solar panel and never have we not had a fully charged battery by the end of each day and that is well worth the money if you dry camp for several days. Even on overcast days it would charge nicely. So yes the furnace will deplete the battery eventually.
