Default BF quote

The first quote on the subject of liberty from Benjamin Franklin (as he put it in the 1738 edition of Poor Richard’s Almanack) is “Sell not virtue to purchase wealth, nor Liberty to purchase power.” He later used “They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” which he wrote for the PA Assembly in 1855. Both quotes have similar meanings and have been frequently paraphrased.
