Wood used in Trailmanors

I am considering the purchase of an 05 or an 06 3023 and was told by someone that Trailmanor stopped using wood in their campers in 05 thus making the 06 and later models more desireable. Does anyone know where the wood was used and how much was used?

Also, what if any problems has the wood caused?

I think you have been misinformed just a bit. Wood framing in the shells stopped in about 2000 or so. I know my 2002 2720SL had aluminum framing in the shells. Wood framing in the shells has been associated with rot if it was allowed to get wet, but was perfectly good if kept dry.

TM has always used (and to the best of my knowledge still uses) wood framing around the perimeter of the floor. I have never heard of a single problem associated with this wood.

You will find a lot info by using the SEARCH tool on the word "wood". Unfortunately, you can't search on "rot", since the search tool needs at least four letters.

I was told by a dealer that wood is still used in the shells as a backing for the staples used in securing the seals.

Wood is still (wisely) used in the TM but much less than in a conventional box trailer. There is little cause to worry about rot.
