Their 60 watt panel is 5 feet x 3.5 feet and has a built-in controller for $900.

They've gotta be kidding. You can buy 2, 80W or 1- 205W Kyoceras for that much.

A thin, flexible, lightweight solar panel is a great thing. At the present time, it is a relatively new technology, and therefore quite expensive. However, because demand will be so high, I expect to see quite a price drop in the next couple years. Patience may be a virtue here.

They made "Flexible" solar panels in the early 80's. I had a couple Arco flexible panels on my yacht and they lasted about a year. The tiny wires inside the panels kept separating. I learned how to get in there and solder in by-pass wires. What a mess that ended up being.

I read that someone is making light-weight solar panels that can be purchased in huge rolls. The intent is to cut the to size and cover the entire roof of a building with it. I think that they are intended to be fastened down, so they don't flex.

You can say that again. :new_bdays HAHA

They have a one step process now where cells can be produced right out in rolled sheets. The old crystaline cells took eight or so steps.
