Protecting Solar Panel on Roof

How does one protect their solar panel on roof from falling debris if one does not have a garage or carport? Any suggestions? Linda ;)

I have never had a problem with a solar panel breaking due to debris dropping on it. I suppose you could fashion a cover, but then it won't be able to charge the batteries.
