Okay, please give me your ideas. Nobody wants bees, flies, etc. getting in all the time. Thanks for your help on getting a screendoor installed.

We debated & debated on how to handle the bug problem. We finally decided to try a bead screen, Cost 14.00, DW cut it off & tied the ends. Attached it with velcro. It is doing a super job, easy to put up and cost efficient.

Just another thought............

The bead curtain is an original and fabulous idea. I like it a lot.

Are you OK up there in Sedona? Not burned out? Be careful.

I will try to get a picture out tomorrow. If I can figure it out.

Thanks for asking about the fire. We are far enough away that it should not be a problem for us, A lot of smoke in the AM. We just hope there isn't to much damage to the Oak Creek Canyon area.

That's a big 10-4, one of our favorite places in that area is Oak Creek Canyon. We go there a lot since we have a time share at Sunterra resorts.

We have some hanging beads that I would be glad to send anyone who wants them....some of them actually look like disco balls. The kids bought/received them as gifts and have moved on to other decorations. They're pretty groovy. I keep thinking that I will start selling things on Ebay, but can't get past the part where you have to give them your bank account number.

Well I'll try again. My pictures were "to large" so I think they have shrunk. I hope.

The beads are attached to a 1"X11/4" header. The header is held up with Velcro. 3 strips about 3" long.

It looks like Oak Creek Canyon will be spared any major damage.

NUTS.............it didn't work. The TM has been put to bed. I'll be pulling it out of the garage Tuesday. I'll take pic's with my old camera, I didn't have these problems with it. Hang in there.

Jack,

Did you cut the beads to fit the entire length of the door or only the top half? We just went to a very buggy area (mostly flying bugs)... it was hot, and so we wanted to leave at least the top half of the door open all of the time. I'm just wondering which way would work best. Thanks for sharing your great idea. I hope you can post pictures soon.

..........someone's looking for a screen picture. Wouldn't you know that Murphy's Law is alive and well. Friday, 6-23-06, I deleted it from my allotment to make room for other pics!

Puttin' it back up now.

Finally, I think this will work.

The beads were cut off just below the bottom half. Any more I think would be to bulky.

We were in Oregon a couple months ago and there were 6 wasps in the TM the 1st hour we had the door open. I decided to make the major step & put up the beads. It worked, we only had two more uninvited guest the next 4 days.

Have fun...........

Jack,
Thanks for the pictures and for the great idea. I'm glad it works. We'll have to give it a try. I forgot to mention it before, but I am very glad you are safe from the fire. I hope they get it contained soon. I am an AZ native and have spent a lot of time in Sedona and Oak Creek, when I lived in Flagstaff. It crushes me to see it burning. Maybe we'll run into each other camping sometime.

Thanks again for the pictures.

The colors match your TM nicely. Doesn't the wind blow them around?

Cheri.......directed at me; then it's a factory made unit. If not, its still factory made! ;)

I really don't know if the beads blow or not. A small breeze didn't seem to bother them, I don't remember a heavy wind. ???

The fire is all but out, no homes lost. I understand not many trees burned, the fire laid near the ground. I guess the area had been cleaned up.

SPECIAL NOTE: Almost all of Arizona's forests are closed. I mean really closed, you can't even drive through. I hope no one was planning a trip here.

I'm heading for New Mexico then on into Colorado. I'll be gone about two months.

Later................

I don't have pics of it but I have the same one as Denny and I also have one that goes from top to bottom. looks just like the one in denny's pic but longer and has weights in the bottom to stop blowing so that you can have both top and bottom doors open.. we like it better than an actual screen door because since its made of strips of screen, the kids can go in and out without slamming the door or pinching fingers. we actually thought of making one like it for the patio at home too... If I can get a pic on here I will.
