New Owner Questions

DH and I have just purchased a 2000 3124 KS and we are so excited about it. I have one question:

1. What sort of stuff do you store in your hanging kitchen cabinet? Do you have to remove the contents when cabinet is stored for traveling or have you engineered a way to secure the contents.

DH and I have just purchased a 2000 3124 KS and we are so excited about it. I have one question:

1. What sort of stuff do you store in your hanging kitchen cabinet?

Bottom shelf: Full place settings for two people...dinner plates, bowls, and salad plates; water glasses, wine glasses, martini glasses, & juice/cocktail glasses as well as a pair of insulated plastic beer mugs (which work well for coffee)...and my must-have miniature martini shaker :). By lightweight, I mean mostly melamine plates and lexan "glasses". I do also carry two Corelle plates because Melamine will overheat in a microwave...but no heavy china or stoneware and no actual glassware. I went to Target for the melamine place settings and found some that look/feel like real stoneware (except much lighter). The Lexan "glassware" came from a variety of sources...mostly Camping World but I had to get resourceful to find Lexan martini "glasses". :)

Top shelf: A dozen or so spice bottles, box of sweetener packets, box of cocoa packets, box of Folgers cup-at-a-time coffee packets, can of no stick spray, bottle of olive oil, cannister of coffee creamer, and some miscellaneous small stuff.

But no disposable stuff like paper plates or throwaway plastic cups. :eek: ;)

All in all, it weighs around 30 to 35 lbs...no big deal for me since I do pretty strenuous strength training (aka "weight lifting") about 3 times a week at my fitness center. I don't worry about the effect of this weight on the trailer's walls since the cabinet is only mounted for 2 or 3 days about every 3 weeks during the summer.

Nope, I simply set the fully filled cabinet on the front slide (with the doors facing the couch so it won't open) whenever I pack up for travel. Because I have so much "stuff" inside my cabinet, there's no room for it to move around enroute and by putting the door next to the couch, the door doesn't open accidentally.

Hi we travel with kids so we put the goodies in our hanging cupboard. The cookies,bread so it don't get sat on. We also keep our trailmanor book in there too. Our paper plates and bowls live on the lower shelf too.
