Under the advanced search function, you have to option to search for "tags". As a site sponsor, I am able to use the "edit tags" function on most of the posts and add key words that I think would be helpful to people searching for a certain topic.

Tonight I added the following tags to the current discussion about "Ceiling Fan Wiring": trailmanor wiring diagram, wiring diagram.

Now, if I do a search for either of those terms, it will lead me to that thread and if I keep reading I will see my post about where the wiring diagram is located.

Please keep this in mind if you are looking for something, and if you have searched and searched for something and finally found it, adding a tag might help you again find what you found.

I've been reading this board for eight years this summer, and I know I've seen things and can't find them; this will help me find this topic in the future.

What I'm wondering about, is does it work for others besides me? Are "tags" personal references, or are they universal for everyone?

Seems to work ok for me, I used <trailmanor wiring diagram> and also <wiring diagram> and they both carried me to Ceiling Fan Wiring.

Thanks for your reply. It would be nice if we all could make careful use of this function to find things on the board.
