We stumbled on Echo Basin, a combo campground and dude ranch west of Durango, CO a few years ago, and found it to be a great place. Well off the road, good destination area, and easy place to be. Sites are roomy, and scenery is delightful.
It's not close to town, if that is a factor, but since we live in a big one I'm always glad to be in the sticks.
