Default Thetford Slide-EZ gaskets

I did a dumb thing yesterday. Perhaps I can save others from doing the same thing.

The toilet in my TM had begun to leak around the base, and figuring it was the Slide-EZ valve, I had picked up a gasket repair kit (Thetford part number 09872). Yesterday, I pulled the toilet off the floor (as has been described), took it outside, and removed the Slide-EZ valve. Sure enough, that was where the leak was happening. So I disassembled the Slide-EZ valve, removed the old worn gaskets and threw them away, cleaned up the plastic parts with a hose and some soap and water, opened up the repair kit, and set the new gaskets down in front of me.

Oops. Which gaskets go where? And what side of each gasket goes up? I studied it for a while, and I was pretty sure I knew the answer - but this is a messy job, and I didn't want to have to do it again. There appears to be no diagram of the gaskets online, so I emailed Thetford, confessed my dumbness, and asked for help.

Somewhat to my surprise, a girl in Customer Service at Thetford promptly took pity on me, found a partial diagram, marked it up by hand, scanned it, and sent it off to me. It is attached to this post. You may find it useful to click on the attachment thumbnail, then perform a SAVE AS on the full size diagram so you can zoom in more. And BTW, "EM" on the diagram stands for Electra Magic, the model of the recirculating toilet in the TM.

Moral? Don't be dumb - remember the old rule. When you remove a bunch of parts, expecting to replace them - make a sketch or a photo of the old parts.

Good deal Bill. I was going to suggest adding the diagram in the 'TrailManor information you won't find anywhere else' forum, for future reference........but see where you already did.
