Default Broken plastic faucet !

Eek! Just accidentally snapped the plastic kitchen faucet at the base.

It is a jagged break, but clean, only the faucet snapped, right where it screws in.

Now I am afraid to turn on my water, and I can’t fix this until I am able to take it in for a service.

Any quick fixes anyone knows?

I was thinking maybe JB plastic weld for a couple weeks?

Please help!

Replace the faucet. Big pain in the neck due to limited access. Took me all day and I had to buy new PEX pipe, rings, and a crimper.

I was able to remove my old one and drop in a replacement without any modifications. It was a challenge to reach the fittings but it is do-able. I replaced it with an American Standard metal faucet and sprayer. One of those deals where you cannot see what you're doing but can put it together by feel.

Default South Bay Area RV fixers?

I am so much a newbie. If anyone can suggest a person or company they can recommend in the South Bay Area to help me fix it? I wish I felt confident enough to just tear it apart but.... I don’t.

Really disappointed I can’t use my trailmanor sink because of this. Actually, the dealer we bought it from kind of shoved us out the door, didn’t show us how to use any of the systems, actually scratched the interior when closing it.
So, literally looking to pay someone to show me how to use it and to fix my sink, but I don’t know who to trust with it at this point.

We are in Gilroy/Morgan Hill area.

I have not replaced the faucet, so this is just an idea. Wouldn't it be possible to put some "pipe extenders" (for want of a better phrase) onto the faucet's pipe fittings before you drop the faucet piping through the mounting holes? I'm thinking of the flexible hoses you can use to install a sink or a toilet. The fittings ought to be the same size, etc, since that is what they are intended for. The only remaining pain is installing the fixture's hold-down washers and nuts, but you can start them by feel (no line of sight needed), and tighten them with a basin wrench.

If the only problem is that the spout snapped off (the part that comes up out of the base and delivers water to the sink), but the valves (knob assemblies) are OK, then you can turn on the water system. You just can't use the kitchen faucet.

Looks like I’ll be tackling this project, too. My kitchen faucet has developed a steady drip drip drip drip.

I don't know how the faucets in your TM are constructed, but you may be able to fix this with a new faucet washer, or a new core. MUCH easier (and cheaper) than replacing the entire faucet.

I’ll have to take a closer look. Couldn’t really see how to get the faucet handles off. Thought someone said they weren’t really serviceable?

Shane,

The kitchen faucets are serviceable. I recently replaced the stem washers on the hot and cold water faucets of my kitchen sink.

The faucet handles can be taken off by first removing the small center cap. The cap hides a screw that will release the handles.

Before removing the screw open the faucet a bit to release pressure on the stem.

Once the handles are removed you should find either a brass or plastic nut that is the top of the stem used to uninstall or reinstall it.

Then carefully back off on the stem nut and unscrew the stem to access the stem washer. The washer is located at the bottom of the stem and held in place by a small screw. Make sure the replacement washer is an exact fit. Most likely a deteriorated stem washer is the cause of your constant drip.

Once a new stem washer is installed, be sure to open the faucet a few turns before reinstalling and tightening the stem. Failure to do so could damage the new stem washer or the stem seat.

The attached thumbnails are of the bathroom sink. The kitchen tap is made basically the same way.

Dick
